Twitter has proved to be a bit of a gold mine for Dell—the computer maker said promotions over the social-networking site directly resulted in more than $6.5 million in sales this year. The number of subscribers to Dell’s Tweets has risen 23% over the last three months, to the point where 1.5 million people—as far-flung as China, Mexico, Japan, and Brazil—now follow along, reports Bloomberg. While $6.5 billion is a drop in the bucket for Dell, which took in $61.1 billion in revenue last year, the firm is pleased with the trend. “It’s a very vibrant channel for us and it’s growing aggressively,” says a company official. “It’s not just our reach and growth that has progressed, it’s that it’s happening globally.”
